During my first diagnostic visit to the beauty salon, I noticed that the clutter in the cupboards, in addition to being a visual pollution, was hindering the staff’s movements during the treatments performed for the clientele and was becoming a real organizational problem for all the employees. The accumulation of products and care materials hindered vision and made it difficult to quickly find a product or utensil. It was difficult to be efficient in such a situation. Another objective, and not the least, concerned the organization of the linen and its storage in the beauty salon.
The objective is to assign a place for everything and facilitate the gestures during customer care. Discover here some visuals before the intervention of home organizing. Then further on, the before/after images and the references of the storage systems installed for this home organizing mission.
Steps to organization
A great deal of sorting and decluttering of belongings is planned before setting up the organization of the closets and the various spaces of the beauty salon. It is important to take everything out to get a general overview of the things stored in the closets. Many of them were not visible, often hidden behind mountains of products and objects.
To organize the spaces, the step not to be missed is that of sorting. It is important to permanently separate objects that do not belong here.
Empty storage spaces
The spaces are completely emptied, then we take advantage to dust and clean the shelves and the grounds which were cluttered by the business.
We take out all in order to proceed to an inventory of the objects and products of the living room. The measurement is easier without all these elements that clutter and prevent to see clearly the available space.
Sorting and decluttering
We make room to sort. Everything is taken out of the closets and grouped by category. At first glance it is possible to see the space that each category takes.
My home organizing service is meant to be complete. I take care of clearing out what is not needed. I take care of the sorting at the end of the sorting process, so that we can make room for the rest of the storage.
Bo Rangement is equipped with a utility vehicle to facilitate the taking in charge of the things to be cleared. What is in good condition is given away. The rest is taken to a waste disposal center for professionals.
Here, the laundry is rented to an external company that takes care of washing and collecting the dirty laundry once a week. The dirty laundry is stored in the blue bags of the external company. The clean linen is stored in blue bags and everywhere in the living room on shelves.
The proposed solution for the future is to install a large closet (the location is not shown here but the space is available) to store all the clean linens of the institute. The idea is to gather the linen in the same place and to leave the place for the dirty linen in this room. The IKEA cupboard on wheels (see the jute solution below) would then be used to contain all the cleaning products of the salon but also the stock of products and utensils used during the treatments carried out in the room adjacent to this room.
A custom Billy bookcase from IKEA
The challenge concerned the storage of the institute’s linen. A very narrow room, which had access constraints (the electrical panel must remain accessible in case of need), was used to store the linen. To facilitate access to the electrical panel, casters were added to the IKEA cabinet. A wooden board is added to the feet of the cabinet to fix the four casters. To do this, I went to Hornbach to have a 40x40cm spruce board cut.

We notice that the space where the vacuum cleaner is stored (see picture “front cupboard”) and the cleaning kit is not optimized. Moreover, access to the vacuum cleaner is complicated, you have to move everything in front of it to get it. The solution is described next. For this closet, a shelf was added where the space was the greatest (where the vacuum cleaner was hung). The idea was to create an extra space to store the equipment here and move the vacuum cleaner into the linen closet with the other cleaning utensils. The result speaks for itself! We have optimized the space and it is now easier to access the vacuum cleaner.
