Let’s look back at a home organizing mission I did this year to declutter and organize a kitchen. My client’s main objectives were to see her kitchen clearly and to rediscover the pleasure of cooking in a healthy and clutter-free environment. Several years had passed without her having the courage to sort and organize her kitchen. Dishes, appliances and foodstuffs were beginning to pile up and overflow. It was difficult for her to prepare meals with a cluttered work surface and a disorganized pantry. My client called on Bo Rangement to organize and tidy up her kitchen.
For her project, my client did not wish to accompany me, so I had planned another person to assist me. The schedule being tight, we had to finish this home organizing mission within two days, that’s why it was more judicious that I was accompanied.
We started by emptying all the cupboards and drawers in the kitchen in order to make an inventory of the dishes and foodstuffs that had accumulated over the past few years.
We gave the inside of the cupboards and drawers a good cleaning and adjusted the layout of the shelves to optimize storage.

A well-organized kitchen creates a suitable environment for preparing meals and facilitates daily cleaning. With this in mind, I rethought the organization of the cupboards and drawers so that everything was within easy reach and visible to my client.
To keep your pantry organized and avoid getting lost, my preferred solution is to store food by category, transferring dry foods into clear jars that you will label. This method not only helps to put order in the kitchen, to properly manage your food stock, but it helps to be more efficient when you prepare meals.
To carry out this project, I had previously prepared a project file including: my client’s objectives, an estimate, a schedule and a shopping list of storage solutions. The purchase of items is a service that I offer as part of my interior design missions. I search for storage solutions adapted to your room and your budget and I take care of collecting in the store or in the stock of Bo Rangement (when it is about items sold by Bo Rangement) all the items that will be used in the project.
We spent a full day sorting and setting up the organization in the kitchen, then half a day labeling the jars, making the final adjustments and clearing out the stuff.
The real difficulty of this project was that my client was not ready to part with her things but I managed to find a compromise.
